Dr. Hernandez is a Marine Corps veteran and a board-certified general surgeon through the American College of Surgeons, renowned for his expertise in minimally invasive, evidence-based procedures. Known for his compassionate care, he is dedicated to delivering excellent outcomes and is a steadfast advocate for his patients.

Originally from Cuba, Dr. Hernandez moved to Miami as a teenager, completed high school, and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Rising to the rank of Sergeant, he served in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. During his military service, he attended community college, later earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida International University. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at the University of South Florida. After training, he served as a Trauma and Emergency General Surgeon before returning to Sarasota with his wife, Remie.
