Blackheads are nothing but comedones also known as open comedones . These are hair follicles or pores that is clogged with a mixture of dead skin cells and sebum- an oily substance naturally secreted by the skin. Blackheads occurs when sebum produced by the skin pores get exposed to oxygen . Sebum darkens during the oxidization creating a dark spot on your skin known as Blackhead.
